ABOUT US

Shaping how India learns in the age of AI

GrowthSchool is India's leading AI upskilling platform, enabling working professionals to future-proof their careers through high-quality, mentor-led programs. We build at the intersection of education and artificial intelligence — a space attracting significant attention from policymakers, regulators, and industry bodies globally.
As we scale, we are now establishing our public policy function for the first time. This is a foundational hire that will define how GrowthSchool engages with governments, regulators, and the broader policy ecosystem in India and beyond.

The Role

Build the policy function from the ground up

As GrowthSchool's first Manager — Public Policy, you will be the primary interface between GrowthSchool and the government — engaging with ministries, regulatory bodies, parliamentary committees, and industry associations on issues that shape AI-powered education in India.
This is a high-visibility role requiring equal parts policy depth, strategic thinking, and executive presence. You will report directly to the Chief Business Officer and work alongside senior leadership to define GrowthSchool's policy positions and represent the brand at the highest levels of public discourse.

Build the Public Policy Function
  • Design and establish GrowthSchool's public policy practice from scratch — including frameworks, processes, stakeholder maps, and engagement strategies.
  • Define the company's policy priorities across edtech regulation, AI governance, digital skilling, and workforce development.
  • Create GrowthSchool's external policy voice — position papers, consultation responses, and thought leadership submissions.

Government & Regulatory Engagement

  • Build and manage relationships with key ministries — including MeitY, Ministry of Education, NITI Aayog, and MSDE — as well as relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Track legislative and regulatory developments across edtech, AI, data privacy, and workforce policy; brief internal leadership proactively on implications for GrowthSchool.
  • Represent GrowthSchool in government consultations, parliamentary proceedings, and regulatory discussions, presenting the company's perspective clearly and credibly.
  • Lead responses to policy consultation papers, RFIs, and government white papers on behalf of GrowthSchool.

Industry & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Represent GrowthSchool at industry bodies, trade associations, and edtech forums — including IAMAI, nasscom, and relevant AI policy coalitions.
  • Build coalitions with peer companies, academic institutions, and civil society organisations to advance shared policy positions.
  • Identify and secure speaking opportunities and thought leadership platforms that elevate GrowthSchool's policy brand.

Stakeholder Alignment & Internal Advisory

  • Act as the internal expert on policy risk and opportunity — advising the CBO, product, legal, and business teams on how regulatory developments affect strategy.
  • Lead stakeholder alignment meetings with leadership to ensure GrowthSchool's policy positions reflect business priorities and ethical commitments.
  • Develop a policy calendar and monitor regulatory timelines to ensure the company is never caught off-guard by legislative change.

What we are looking for

EXPERIENCE

  • 5–7 years in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory affairs.
  • Prior engagement with Government of India — from within government, a think tank, industry body, or a technology company's policy team.
  • Demonstrable track record of representing an organisation externally in government or regulatory settings.
  • Experience in edtech, technology, or AI is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience building a policy function is a significant advantage.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Deep understanding of India's legislative process, key ministries, and the policymaking ecosystem.
  • Outstanding written communication — position papers, policy briefs, consultation responses.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and executive presence in high-stakes settings.
  • Strategic thinking — connecting regulatory developments to business implications.
  • Comfort building structure from scratch and making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Familiarity with AI governance and India's education regulatory landscape is a strong advantage.

Why this role is different

You will be GrowthSchool's first public policy hire — with the mandate, resources, and leadership backing to build the function entirely your way.
You will represent a brand at the centre of two of India's most important policy conversations: the future of AI and the future of work.
Direct access to the Chief Business Officer and the leadership team — your policy insights will inform business strategy at the highest level.
A platform growing fast — the policy problems you work on will grow in scale and complexity alongside you.
A culture that values rigour, ownership, and speed — you will not be stuck in bureaucracy.
